1. Controller
The controller responsible for the processing of personal data in connection with this website is: PRUDENTIA LAW, Klosbachstrasse 37, 8032 Zurich, Switzerland, reception@prudentia-law.ch.
2. Scope and applicable law
This privacy policy applies to the website www.prudentia-law.ch. It explains which personal data we process when you visit the website and when you contact us.
This policy is governed by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, its provisions apply in addition. The legal bases under the GDPR are stated in each section.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Webland AG in Switzerland. Each time the website is accessed, the web server automatically stores the following information in log files: the IP address of the requesting device, the date and time of access, the page or file requested, the website from which you reached us (referrer), and your browser type and operating system.
This data is required to deliver the website, to ensure its security and stability and to analyse errors. We also use it for access statistics.
The log files are kept for a limited period and then deleted. Webland processes this data on our behalf as a processor. The legal basis under the GDPR is our legitimate interest in the secure and proper operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Cookies
Cookies are small text files that your browser stores on your device. This website only uses technically necessary cookies:
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention period |
|---|---|---|
| lang | stores the language you have selected | 30 days |
| PHPSESSID | session cookie; stores your language setting during your visit | until you close your browser |
| cookie_notice | stores that you have acknowledged the cookie notice | 12 months |
No consent is required for them. The legal basis under the GDPR is our legitimate interest in a functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. Your language setting will then not be stored.
5. Contact form and e-mail
If you contact us via the contact form or by e-mail, we process the information you provide. In the contact form, this is your name, telephone number, e-mail address and your request. Information submitted through the contact form is delivered to us by e-mail.
We use this data to handle your enquiry and, where applicable, to prepare a mandate. The legal basis under the GDPR is the performance of pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Your information is subject to attorney-client privilege. We retain it for as long as required to handle your enquiry, for any resulting mandate and to comply with statutory retention obligations.
Please note that unencrypted e-mail does not ensure confidential transmission; this also applies to messages sent through the contact form. Please therefore send confidential documents or information only after agreeing on a suitable channel with us.
6. Google Maps
The “Map” page can display a map from the Google Maps service. The map is only loaded when you click “Load map”. Before that, no data is transmitted to Google.
For users in Switzerland and the European Economic Area, the provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, an affiliate of Google LLC (USA). As soon as the map is loaded, your browser transmits in particular your IP address and technical information about your browser to Google. Google may set cookies and may also transfer the data to the USA.
Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The European Commission and the Swiss Federal Council have recognised an adequate level of data protection for certified companies.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by clicking. It applies only to the page view in question; on your next visit the map will not load automatically. If you follow the link “Open in Google Maps”, you leave our website and Google’s terms apply. For more information, please see Google’s privacy policy.
7. Disclosure of data
We do not sell personal data or disclose it for advertising purposes. We use Webland AG in Switzerland as a processor for hosting and e-mail. Switzerland benefits from an adequacy decision of the European Commission.
Data is only transferred to the USA if you load the Google Maps map (section 6). Otherwise, we only disclose personal data where this is necessary to handle your request or where we are legally obliged or entitled to do so.
8. Your rights
You have the rights granted by law, in particular the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability, withdrawal of consent and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
9. Data security
The connection to this website is encrypted with TLS, as indicated by “https” and the padlock symbol in your browser. However, complete security of data transmission over the internet cannot be guaranteed.
10. Changes
We may amend this privacy policy at any time. The current version published on this website applies.
